Purpose
This document explains how LightMatch Pro handles manufacturer product data uploaded by authorized sales representatives. Manufacturers who want to understand how their data is being used, request verification, or explore partnership opportunities can find information here.
How Manufacturer Data Enters Our System
Manufacturer product data enters LightMatch Pro only through authorized channels. Sales representatives upload product catalogs, line cards, specification sheets, and other product information for the manufacturers they are authorized to represent. We do not scrape, crawl, or collect product data from public sources. Data is uploaded by the rep, who confirms they have authorization to use it with LightMatch Pro.
How We Use Manufacturer Data
Manufacturer product data (specifications, catalog numbers, and technical attributes) is used in two ways:
- Cross-Reference Matching: To match architect-specified fixtures against available manufacturer products within authorized representatives' accounts
- Shared Product Database: To build and maintain an accurate, structured product database for each manufacturer, which benefits all authorized representatives of that manufacturer
The shared product database contains only manufacturer product information (specs, catalog numbers, technical attributes). It does not contain and cannot reveal which representatives carry a given manufacturer, their line card composition, project data, or any business-specific information.
Representative Privacy
While Product Catalog Data may be shared across the platform by manufacturer, all representative-specific data remains completely private:
- No representative can see which other representatives carry a given manufacturer
- Representatives only see their own line card assignments and project data
- No representative is identified as the contributor of any product data
- Cross-reference results and decisions are private to each account
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not create a publicly accessible product database
- We do not modify or alter manufacturer product specifications
- We do not claim ownership of manufacturer intellectual property
- We do not license or sell manufacturer data to non-authorized parties
- We do not reveal which representatives carry a given manufacturer
- We do not use manufacturer data for advertising or marketing purposes
Aggregated Platform Improvements
To improve cross-reference accuracy for all LightMatch Pro users, we may derive anonymized patterns from product data uploaded by all representatives. Examples include:
- Catalog Prefix Mapping: Learning that a catalog prefix consistently maps to a fixture category helps future extractions work better
- Specification Sheet URL Patterns: Discovering where manufacturers typically host spec sheets improves document linking
- Product Taxonomy: Identifying common fixture types and categories across manufacturers enhances classification
- Normalization Improvements: Learning common ways specifications are formatted improves data extraction
These improvements never expose:
- Specific product details (model numbers, SKUs, exact specifications)
- Proprietary pricing or line card information
- Any identifying information about which manufacturer or representative the data came from
Manufacturer Inquiries
Manufacturers who wish to verify how their data is being used, request removal of their products from the platform, or establish a direct data partnership may contact Quarric LLC. We welcome inquiries about:
- Verifying that product data from your company is only being used by authorized representatives
- Requesting removal of your product data from the platform
- Discussing data privacy and usage practices specific to your brand
- Reporting unauthorized use or misrepresentation
Data Partnership Opportunity
Manufacturers are invited to directly contribute to LightMatch Pro and improve cross-referencing accuracy for all users. We welcome partnerships where manufacturers provide:
- Catalog number decoding rules and product taxonomy
- Specification sheet URL patterns and linking information
- Product category and fixture type classifications
- Common abbreviations and specification format guidance
Manufacturers providing such data help us build more accurate fixtures schedules and better cross-referencing for the entire commercial lighting industry. If your organization is interested in a data partnership, please contact us.
