Data Usage Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

Introduction

This policy explains how Quarric LLC handles the data you upload to LightMatch Pro and clarifies what we mean by "your data stays private." We believe transparency about data usage is essential to earning your trust.

Two Types of Data

LightMatch Pro handles two distinct categories of data, and they are treated differently:

Vault Data (always private to you): Your line card assignments (which manufacturers you represent), project fixture schedules, cross-reference decisions, custom notes, account information, and all data specific to your business operations. This is your competitive information and it never leaves your account.

Product Catalog Data (shared by manufacturer): Manufacturer product specifications, catalog numbers, and technical attributes (lumens, wattage, CCT, voltage, mounting, dimensions). This information describes manufacturer products — it is the same regardless of which representative uploads it. Product Catalog Data may be used to build and maintain a shared product database for each manufacturer, benefiting all authorized representatives of that manufacturer. It never reveals who uploaded it, which reps carry a given manufacturer, or any Vault Data.

The Vault Promise

Your Vault Data is yours alone:

  • Stored in isolation: Your Vault Data is stored in secure, access-controlled systems separate from other users
  • Never visible to other reps: No other user can see which manufacturers you represent, your projects, or your decisions
  • Never shared with competitors: We will never disclose your Vault Data to competing companies or other representatives
  • Never sold: We will never sell, license, or transfer your Vault Data to third parties
  • Access controlled: Only you and authorized Quarric LLC staff (for support purposes) can access your Vault Data

How We Use Your Data

We use your data for these specific purposes:

  • To provide cross-referencing services and generate results for your projects
  • To store and organize your line card and product information
  • To provide customer support when you request help or report an issue
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests

We use your data only for these stated purposes and never for marketing, advertising, or other undisclosed uses.

Aggregated and Derived Insights

To improve LightMatch Pro for all users, we may derive and use anonymized, aggregated patterns from data across all accounts. Examples of such patterns include:

  • Catalog Decoding Rules: "Prefix XYZ indicates a downlight category across manufacturers"
  • URL Patterns: Common locations where manufacturers host product specification sheets
  • Fixture Type Classification: Improved detection of fixture types and categories
  • Normalization Rules: Better handling of common specification formats and abbreviations

These patterns are derived from statistical analysis across all users' data. They never contain:

  • Your specific product data or specifications
  • Your pricing information or line card composition
  • Your project details or client information
  • Anything that would allow us or others to identify you or your customers

These aggregated patterns are industry knowledge improvements, not trade secrets, and benefit all LightMatch Pro users.

What We Will NEVER Do

  • Share your line card assignments with another representative
  • Reveal which manufacturers you represent to other users
  • Expose your project data, decisions, or client information
  • Sell or license your Vault Data to third parties
  • Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
  • Identify you as the contributor of any Product Catalog Data

Shared Product Database

When you upload manufacturer product data (catalog numbers, specifications, technical attributes), this Product Catalog Data may be used to build and improve a shared product database organized by manufacturer. This means:

  • If you upload Lithonia product specs and another rep also carries Lithonia, the structured product data may benefit both accounts
  • The shared database contains only manufacturer product information — never your line card, projects, decisions, or any data identifying you
  • No user can determine who contributed specific product data
  • Manufacturers may also contribute product data directly to improve accuracy

By uploading Product Catalog Data, you confirm that you have authorization to use this manufacturer data with LightMatch Pro. Manufacturers may contact us to verify authorized use or to contribute product data directly.

Data Export and Deletion

You retain full control of your data:

  • Export: You can export your data at any time through your account settings
  • Deletion: Upon account deletion, your individual data is removed from our systems within 90 days
  • Exceptions: Data retention may be required by law or regulation
  • Aggregated Patterns: Aggregated patterns derived from your data before deletion may persist as they are not individually identifiable
